i have read the Bridget Jones books and seen the first movie. While enjoyable, those among us in the working woman/mother category may wonder how we can relate to Bridget in this stage of our lives. We are not Bridgets, we can multitask, multimanage, and find time for a nice manicure. I see plenty of articles on young single women, some articles on the few women CEOs out there, but what about us everyday young? women who went to college and often grad school, told we could have it all, and now wonder if that means "all at the same time?" "at different times" "assuming we only need 2.5 hours sleep at night?" Twelve and a half years as a lawyer, 10.5 years as a mom, and now I thought I would explore some of the fun filled adventures we working moms have at home, in the office, and out there in the community. Some topics I hope to address include whether people agree with me that the generation of women who became professionals in the 70s and 80s is less supportive of younger women today than even their male peers, and how my generation of 30 something women is attempting to find some level ground. I know so many talened, brillant women who have made various choices: full time professionals, reduced schedule professionals, stay at home moms (temp), stay at home moms (permanent). I have close friends in each of these categories. Over the course of this blog, through the more than occasional humerous anecdote, I hope to explore these and other topics. Of course, ramblings on celebrities will occasionally take place. My one true vice is a copy of US Weekly every week!
